Echo Beach asked friends of the label to rework Horace Andy’s classic tracks in their own sound outfit. This time the label hasn’t trawled old Studio One tapes for historic vocal snippets – that would sooo nineties; no, Horace Andy personally put in an appearance to sing new versions of his classic tracks on top of timeless and contemporary riddims.

Working with Switchstance Recordings, Nilotika have achieved a milestone in musical history: the first ever African Nyabingi recording, which took place at East African Records studio in Kampala, Uganda. The session was captured over two weeks, using local instruments and the full ensemble of around 15 people, including friends and family. The results are extraordinary.

The Berlin collective brings the organic band vibe back into pop music. Radio-friendly hooks, full brass sections and sweeping grooves combine to create a new interpretation of singer-songwriting with dub influences. Free of clichés and borders.

From the foundations of ‘The Big Smoke’, to the intergalactic heights of ‘Lost in Space’, Gentleman’s Dub Club’s voyage has taken them through ‘Fire’ and ‘Earthquake’ as they stop at nothing to discover and develop their sound. The eight Gents have delivered inimitable reggae, dub, ska, jazz, and electronica since 2006. Now they return back ‘Down To Earth’ with a brand-new mix of beats and bass.

Ras Nix who originates from Kenya is now resident in the USA and has over 10 years experience in the music industry. Inspired by the roots masters like Bob Marley, Peter Tosh & Burning Spear he picked up the guitar at a early age. This musical inspiration is fused with the sounds of Nixon's native Kenyan upbringing and the reggae dancehall sounds of the Nairobi club scene, not to mention the sonic melting pot that is the USA, that have helped define his unique sound.

A very refreshing Reggae 🤝  Hip-Hop hybrid. “‘Babylon Exists’ - the opening track - is a straight shot at the evil and brutality that we feel from the government and police. This song is an anthem stating that evil is real - and until we all can unite and figure out how to truly put an end to it, it’s gonna live on forever. Babylon exists more than ever.
